Vernon Mortensen is a celebrated filmmaker and writer.  His many films have been screened for audiences around the world and his writing runs the gambit from screenplays and novels to short stories and experimental fiction.

Vernon's quest for knowledge and adventure is legendary.  He served as a commando in the US Navy's elite Special Boat Teams, and has worked as an engineer, a photographer, a bodyguard, an emergency medical technician, a private investigator, a librarian, and a substitute teacher.  He has a Master's degree in Professional Writing (MPW) from the University of Southern California, a BFA in Film from the Art Center College of Design, and a BS from Excelsior College.
July 2008:   Unconventional Films is happy to announce their new feature film "The Sorrow."  This western is to be produced in partnership with Rogue Arts, and released by Radio London Films and Universal Pictures.  "The Sorrow" was written by Vernon Mortensen and John Harrington and will be directed by Vernon Mortensen.
